Why Use My Practice:

Intention

I know everyone says this, but I do genuinely care for all of my clients. It is an amazing feeling when you know that someone is better off after meeting you. When you trust me with your financial plan, know that I will give you the very best that I have.

Resources

To build and maintain effective financial plans for our planning clients, we utilize everything from custom Excel sheets to planning software and tools. Our software and tech tools allow for us to illustrate planning concepts in a variety of ways and to give clients a place to access all the various accounts and products that make up their financial plan.

Responsiveness

One of the most common reasons clients fire a financial advisor is the lack of responsiveness. As a customer, if you need something or have a question, you deserve a detailed, prompt response. Because my practice will eventually cap at a certain number of clients, I can ensure that I can provide each client with detailed and prompt communication. I’ll never get “too big” for you to not get the attention you need.

Results

Financial planning is all math, and I am very good at math. All of the time, energy, and money put into a financial plan over 30-50 years should yield the desired outcome. By working with me and my team, you won’t just get an investment statement, a call once a year, and a Christmas card. You will be able to know how your plan is tracking through annual review meetings and our suite of tech resources. I also encourage clients to reach out anytime they have a question or need anything!

*Investments in securities do not offer a fix rate of return. Principal, yield and/or share price will fluctuate with changes in market conditions and, when sold or redeemed, you may receive more or less than originally invested. No system or financial planning strategy can guarantee future results.

Meet Dalton

Dalton Campbell, Financial Advisor

I began my career in financial services in 2016 and like most advisors I struggled out of the gate. However, by the grace of God, resilience, and the ability to create an awesome client experience, my practice began to grow and develop.

As I’ve grown, I have found my three focus areas where I do almost all of my work. I cannot be all things to all people, so I have a specific set of clients I work well with and I give them the best experience I can.

My practice has experienced many wins, but what I am most proud of is the hundreds of relationships that I have built with my clients and the impact I have been able to have on my community.

Outside of being a financial advisor, I am a follower of Jesus and a husband to my gorgeous wife, Chelsey. We reside in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley but I serve clients in over 20 states.

If I am not working, I am doing CrossFit, playing golf, traveling with my wife, spending time with my family, or eating. I want those close to me to have a good time, so I do my best to bring humor to everything I do!

Who I Serve:

As my practice has grown, I have narrowed down the clients that I am most suited for. This has come from experience and from a genuine recognition of my unique skillsets and interests.

I have three ideal client descriptions and am very up-front with whether someone will fit well working with me or if I think they would be a better fit for another advisor in my network.

At the end of the day, I want you to have the best experience that can be tailored to your needs. If I can’t provide that, then I will not try to! I have a network of other skilled advisors who can serve the clients that I can’t. Directly or indirectly, I will help you get the best!

  • Self-employed Individuals

The self-employed client is a unique one because they have so many other needs such as:

    • How to structure their business and income

    • How to manage fluctuations in income

    • Finding affordable health insurance and benefits options

    • Optimizing taxes to account for the additional taxes paid by self-employed individuals.

Being self-employed myself, I have had to learn all of these aspects to planning and have put them into practice personally. I am able to truly help the self-employed client be as efficient as possible with their money and to help ensure a wonderful retirement while also building a meaningful business.

  • Accumulators

For clients ranging from 20-55, the goal is often accumulation. While we may start the process of looking at retirement distribution options and things like Long-term Care (LTC) insurance or estate conservation, the primary goal for an accumulator centers around accumulating wealth. For these clients, the focus areas are usually:

    • Family planning (Kids, college, home upgrades, etc)

    • Debt management

    • Investment structuring (How much to invest and where to put it)

    • Budgeting

    • Basic insurance planning

I am well-equipped to serve this niche as well as I am also in this phase of my life. I've had to set all of these things up for my family to prosper and have made many mistakes along the way. Experience plays a role here in helping younger families design the best accumulation plan!

  • Tailored Retirement Planning

For clients 10 years or less out from retirement or who are already retired, the name of the game is optimizing income.

Did you know there could be a variance of up to 50% in retirement income from social security and your investments simply based off how you structure them?

There are many ways to optimize income for retirees, and the primary things we look at for them are:

    • Social Security optimization (When to draw)

    • Improving distribution potential from portfolios

    • Product selection (Advisory account, annuity, etc)

    • LTC protection

    • Securing income streams

    • Managing Required Minimum Distributions, or RMDs

While some retirees simply want portfolio management, we are able to help with every facet of your retirement strategy. Some of the most memorable and impactful client experiences have happened with this type of client!

While I am not in this bucket, this is one of my key focus areas as I have done the majority of my research on this group of clients. I've been to summits and expos, I've heard the best of the best in retirement income planning speak and have read their books, whitepapers and articles. I've also designed many of these plans successfully for my own clients.

My Process

Discovery

During your complimentary discovery meeting, I will gather all of the information I will need to build out a comprehensive and customized financial plan for your family. I encourage clients to fill out an online Discovery Questionnaire prior to this meeting so that I can review their client profile and determine if I am the best fit for them.

If you are a good match for my practice, we can schedule your initial consultation to fill in any gaps and spend some time getting to know one another. However, some clients prefer to go straight to the consultation and skip the form which is fine as well.

Strategy Design

Using all the data gathered in the discovery process, I will map out a financial plan tailored to meeting all the needs you expressed. I use various tools from basic excel sheets to software and tech like Asset-Map® to illustrate the various planning concepts you will need to understand and how any product recommendations I make fit within your plan to help ensure success.

As a fiduciary advisor, I am obligated to make recommendations that are in the best interest of my clients. Illustrating why these recommendations will support your plan and help you achieve the outcome you desire is important, so I employ a variety of tools to help me do that.

Plan Proposal

In your “solutions meeting” I will go through your strategy recommendations in detail and cover any alternatives to make sure we come up with an effective plan that you’re comfortable with. If you love them, we will go through how the set-up process works. If you hate them, we will look at alternatives that you may like better.

The “solutions meeting” is where we review and decide on all the various aspects of your plan. The plan you adhere to will likely be the most effective so having a sense of understanding and comfort with your plan, along with some flexibility built in will help to ensure that we stick to the plan for the long-term!

Implementation

My team will handle all the logistics, paperwork, and communication throughout the set-up process and throughout your client experience with us. I want to make working with us very easy and convenient. All you need to do is communicate with me and my team, schedule your reviews each year, and adhere to your plan. We will do the rest.
